Guide for workspace owners
You are the one person with final responsibility for the workspace. You control billing and role assignments, while admins can share the day-to-day work.
Each workspace has one active owner. The owner has every admin capability, but some decisions stay with the owner alone: managing billing, appointing admins, and deciding who becomes the next owner.
For member removal, artifact transfers, workspace naming, Slack, Team projects, and comments, follow the workspace admin guide. Those procedures work the same way for owners.
Billing stays with the owner
Open Settings, then Billing to manage checkout, change the plan, or open the customer portal. Admins and members cannot perform these operations. If someone else in the company needs a billing change, they should ask you.
Admins can share the operational work
Open Settings and find the person in the member list. Use the actions menu beside an active member to make them an admin. To return an admin to the ordinary member role, use the same menu and remove their admin role.
Admins can handle routine workspace operations, but they cannot appoint or remove other admins. Keep enough admins to cover the work without giving the role to people who do not need it.
An admin cannot be removed from the workspace while they still hold that role. Remove their admin role first; once they are an ordinary member, they can be removed.
Ownership transfer changes who has final control
You can transfer ownership to any active member or admin in the same workspace. In Settings, open that person's actions menu, choose Transfer ownership, and review the confirmation before proceeding.
The recipient becomes the owner immediately. You become an admin, while all other admins keep their current roles. You will no longer be able to manage billing, appoint admins, or transfer ownership unless the new owner later transfers ownership back to you.
The current owner cannot be removed. If you need to leave the workspace, first transfer ownership. The new owner can then remove your admin role, making you an ordinary member who can be removed.
